The Board of Countrywide plc is pleased to announce that Bruce Marsh will be appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer, reporting to Paul Creffield, Group Managing Director. Bruce will serve as an Executive Director on the Board of Countrywide plc and we will confirm his start date in due course.

Succession planning is a key area for the board and this appointment demonstrates our commitment to bringing in new talent and effective leadership as we drive and deliver our turnaround strategy. Bruce is an experienced senior executive, having most recently helped oversee the recovery of Tesco plc in the role of Finance Director, UK, Booker and Republic of Ireland, where he sat on the UK Board. Prior to Tesco, Bruce spent 7 years at Kingfisher plc in broader business roles of Group Strategy Director and as Managing Director, Kingfisher Future Homes, where he launched its Group innovation hub. 

Commenting on the appointment, Peter Long, Executive Chairman of Countrywide plc, said:

The Company confirms that there is no further information to be disclosed under the requirements of Listing Rule 9.6.13R in relation to Bruce's appointment.
