Re: Change of benchmark indices

The Directors of PowerShares Global Funds Ireland plc (the "Company") wish to announce that a circular will be posted tomorrow to shareholders of each of the Company sub-funds set out below, seeking their approval to change the investment policy and objectives of those sub-funds, by substituting new benchmark indices in place of the existing benchmark indices with effect from 1 February 2010, as follows:

PowerShares Dynamic Global Developed FTSE RAFI Asia Pacific Ex-Japan Index Markets Fund

PowerShares Dynamic Japan Fund FTSE RAFI Hong Kong China Index PowerShares Dynamic UK Fund FTSE RAFI All-World 3000 Index PowerShares Dynamic Italy Fund FTSE RAFI Switzerland Index

The Directors of the Company also wish to announce that the names of each of the Company's sub-funds, that are changing their benchmark indices, will be re-named with effect from 1 February 2010, subject to the shareholders approving the change to the benchmark indices, as follows:
