Northern Petroleum Plc ("Northern" or the Company") Change of Auditor

The Board of Northern Petroleum Plc announce that following a review of the external audit function it has appointed KPMG Audit Plc ("KPMG") as auditors to the Company and its subsidiaries with immediate effect. Shareholders will have the opportunity to consider the appointment of KPMG as auditors to the Company at the 2009 Annual General Meeting.

Northern thanks BDO Stoy Hayward LLP for its services over the last five years as auditor and its wider assistance to the Company and its shareholders.
