Zambeef (AIM: ZAM), the fully integrated cold chain foods and retail business with operations in Zambia, Nigeria and Ghana, today announces the appointment of Jonathan Andrew Kirby as a Non-Executive Director to its Board of Directors (the "Board").

Jonathan is a South African national who has over 25 years experience with SABMiller, mostly as Finance Director of SABMiller's African portfolio comprising operations in 18 countries. In October 2016, SABMiller was acquired by AB Inbev for USD108 billion. At that time, Mr. Kirby was appointed as VP Finance for Africa. In June 2017, Mr. Kirby elected to take early retirement from SABMiller/AB Inbev, having completed 25 years service. During this time, Mr. Kirby sat on multiple boards representing SABMiller.

Mr. Kirby is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa), has a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Witwatersrand University (South Africa) and also a Higher Diploma in Tax Law from the Rand Afrikaans University (South Africa).

Zambeef Chairman, Dr Jacob Mwanza, commented: "I take this opportunity to welcome Jonathan as a new Non-Executive Director to the Board.
