Xaar PLC08 February 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 8 February 2008 Xaar plc EFI-JETRION TO USE XAAR 1001 PRINTHEAD IN NEW LABEL PRESSES Alliance brings increased affordability, flexibility to narrow web converters Xaar plc ("Xaar"), the inkjet printing technology group headquartered inCambridge, and EFI-Jetrion today announce an agreement whereby Xaar'srevolutionary 1001 piezoelectric printheads will be supplied for use inEFI-Jetrion's 4000 Series full colour UV label printers for the first time.Earlier models of this printing press were first shown last autumn at LabelexpoEurope; the Jetrion 4000 Series of UV inkjet printers bring narrow webconverters an affordable, full-color alternative to toner-based printers. Byincorporating Xaar's latest inkjet technology into the Jetrion 4000 seriesprinters, converters will benefit from added flexibility and cost-effectivenessfor applications such as labels, tags, forms and tickets on a variety ofsubstrates. Available in web widths of 5.5" (139 mm) or 8.3" (210 mm), theprinter uses 8 or 12 Xaar 1001 heads.
