WATERMAN GROUP ANNOUNCES BOARD RETIREMENT
Waterman Group plc ("Waterman" or "the Group"), a leading international engineering and environmental consultant, announces that main Board Director, Alex Burton has decided to retire from the plc Board on 30th June 2008, prior to his 65th birthday in July. Alex has been a Director since 1988 and a member of the executive committee since its inception in 2004. There will be no immediate replacement at main board level.
Waterman are pleased to announce that Alex will continue working for the Group as Chairman of a newly formed subsidiary, 'Waterman Energy, Environment and Design' and with the responsibility for leading Waterman's Sustainability Group. The new company will consolidate three existing Group subsidiaries and will employ over 250 engineers and scientists to service this extremely important sector both in the UK and overseas.
Chief Executive, Nick Taylor commented:
"I would like to thank Alex for his significant contribution to Waterman's success over a number of years and in particular his personal commitment to many regeneration projects such as Bluewater, The Bull Ring and White City."
