Annual General Meeting
Walker Greenbankย PLCย (AIM: WGB), the luxury interior furnishings group whose brands include Sanderson, Morris & Co., Harlequin and Zoffany,ย will hold its Annual General Meeting in London this morning.ย Terry Stannard, the Company's Chairman, will make the following comments:
"The Company's performance in the first half of the financial year, to 31 July 2009, is in line with management expectations. Group salesย areย expected to be downย byย around 12.5%ย on the corresponding first halfย last year, a period in which trading was particularly strong.ย Our manufacturing sales have declined more significantly than our brand sales in the first half, partly as a result ofย customerย destocking.
"Whilst we are cautious about the remainder of the year, we have evidence that a degree of stability has returned toย our brandย salesย in our keyย UKย retailย market.ย We are therefore comfortable that we will meet market expectations for the full year."ย
