Weir Group PLC05 October 2006 THE WEIR GROUP PLC 5 October 2006 Fidelity International Limited ('FIL') and FMR Corp notified The Weir Group PLC("the Company") on 5 October 2006 that their material interest totalled on 4October 2006 a holding of 16,009,537 ordinary shares in the Company representing7.83% of the Company's issued share capital as detailed in the table below, andthat such notification also comprised the interest of Edward C.
