Vesuvius plc ("Vesuvius") announces that Ms Nelda Connors, a non-executive Director of the Company since March 2013, has decided to step down from the Board of Vesuvius with effect from 30 September 2016. Ms Connors is based in the United States, where she serves as a non-executive Director on the boards of a number of US companies and sits on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. She is also Chairwoman of Pine Grove Holdings, LLC, a consultancy that provides advisory services to private equity and investment firms. The increasing requirements of her other responsibilities mean that she no longer feels able to commit sufficient time to Vesuvius, and therefore it is with regret that she has tendered her resignation from the Board.

The Nomination Committee will commence a process for the appointment of an additional non-executive Director to join the Board in due course.

John McDonough CBE, Chairman of Vesuvius, said:

On behalf of her colleagues I would like to thank her for the contribution she has made to the Board over the past three and a half years. She has played an active and valuable role during a critical period in Vesuvius' development, and we wish her all the best for the future."
