Verona Pharma plc (the "Company") Director Options

The Company today announces, following a recommendation from the Company's Remuneration Committee, that on 7 June 2011, the Company extended the expiry date of existing Director options ("Options") over ordinary shares of 0.1 p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") as follows:-

Apart from the extension of the expiry date, the above Options remain unchanged and continue to have an exercise price of 5 pence. The total number of Ordinary Shares under option held by Directors which could be issued if all of the performance criteria remains unchanged at 11,500,000, representing approximately 4.8 per cent. of the current issued share capital of the Company.
