Volex Group PLC10 January 2008 10 January 2008 Volex Group plc APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHAIRMAN The Board of Volex Group plc today announces that Mike McTighe has beenappointed non-executive Chairman with effect from 1 March 2008, when he willsucceed the current Chairman, Richard Arkle, who will continue as anon-executive Director. Mike McTighe, 54, is also Chairman of Pace Micro Technology plc, a director ofLondon Metal Exchange Holdings Ltd, a non-executive Director of Alliance andLeicester plc, and a board member of Ofcom. Mike was previously Chairman andChief Executive officer of Carrier I International SA and prior to thatExecutive Director and Chief Executive, Global Operations of Cable & Wirelessplc. Mike has also held senior roles with Philips, Motorola and GE, and has morethan 30 years experience in the TMT sector worldwide. Richard Arkle commented: "I am delighted to welcome Mike McTighe as our newnon-executive Chairman. He comes with a wealth of management experience withinthe sector and is well placed to contribute to the next phase of the developmentof the business.
