Volex is delighted to announce the appointment of two senior executives to complete the process of building a highly capable and experienced leadership team.

Jeff Bierman joined the business in October in the role of Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing to drive enhanced performance in our sales teams and to continue the transition to a market-led organisation in our sales and marketing operations.

Jeff has more than 20 years of sales leadership and management experience, combining a sales, marketing and business development background with business expertise in the interconnect industry. Prior to joining Volex Group plc, Jeff was Vice President of Key Accounts at Radio Frequency Systems, a division of Alcatel-Lucent, and focused on positioning RFS as a major wireless infrastructure provider to the cellular network operators. Jeff's previous experience also includes managing domestic and international sales and marketing operations for Amphenol, PPC and M/A-Com. Jeff has a BSEE from Tulane University and an MBA from Bentley University.

John Woodburn will start with Volex in January 2010 in the role of Senior Vice President, Operations. In this role John will be responsible for driving synergies and operational excellence across Volex's global manufacturing, supply chain and logistics functions and supporting the Group's successful strategy of increasing proprietary content.

John has over 25 years' experience of global manufacturing operations for electronic/electrical devices and components. Prior to joining Volex Group plc, John was Vice President, Operations, for the Consumer Division of Jabil Circuit Ltd where he was responsible for factories across Asia, Europe and the Americas, focused on manufacturing consumer electronic products in the telecoms, TV / entertainment, and computer sectors. Before this operational role at Jabil, John was VP with full P&L responsibility  for running a key customer-facing business unit in the mobile sector. Prior to Jabil, John has held senior positions with Solectron and Motorola focused on key global customer accounts and manufacturing operations. John has a BSc from Strathclyde University and an MBA from the Open University.

The appointments of Jeff and John follow on from the appointments earlier in the year of Ray Walsh, the Group Chief Executive; Andrew Cherry, the Group Finance Director; Paul Mather, the Group Human Resources Director; and Andrew Ducker, Vice-President Marketing. Together with several other key hires these constitute a comprehensive overhaul of the global management team and position the Group to take advantage of the multiple growth opportunities available to the Group.
