Trans-Siberian Gold PLC19 May 2005 news release For immediate release: 19 May 2005 Trans-Siberian Gold plc Appointment of Operations Director LONDON: 19 May 2005: Trans-Siberian Gold plc ("the Company" or "TSG") (TSG.L) ispleased to announce the appointment of Richard (Dick) Watts as OperationsDirector. He will take up his appointment in June 2005 and he will join theBoard of TSG at that time. Mr Watts will have executive responsibility for the operational and technicalactivities of the Company. The Managing Directors of TSG's operatingsubsidiaries in Russia, and the head of the Moscow-based technical team, willreport to Mr Watts on operational matters and to Mrs Julia Pekareva, Generaldirector of TSGM, the Company's Russian management company, on administrativematters. Both Mr Watts and Mrs Pekareva will report to Jocelyn Waller,Trans-Siberian's Managing Director. Mr Watts will be based in the Company's headquarters in Toft, Cambridge,although it is envisaged that he will spend the majority of his time in Russiabetween Moscow and the Asacha and Veduga project sites in Kamchatka andKrasnoyarsk. Mr Watts (60) is a mining engineer, with considerable operating and projectexperience. Most recently he was General Manager of Amantaytau Gold Fields inUzbekistan and, previously, he was Principal Mining Engineer at SRK Consultingfor 7 years. Earlier in his career he spent 16 years in South Africa, latterlyin Anglo American's coal division, where he was Mine Manager of a number ofcoalmines.
