Telit completes certification for LTE Cat 1 modules with Voice over LTE

London, 24 October 2017 - Telit Communications PLC ("Telit", "the Group", AIM: TCM), a global enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that its portfolio of LTE Category 1 (Cat 1) modules supporting Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology are now available for operation on Verizon's 4G LTE network.

IoT integrators are now able to take advantage of the new and cost-effective standard for cellular voice communication, essential for the long-term evolution of voice-dependent applications in the IoT.

Yosi Fait, Telit's Interim Chief Executive Officer, said:

"The delay in this VoLTE certification, as previously mentioned, was one of the reasons for our revenue shortfall in the first half. However, in line with our existing expectations, this certification clearance will enable us to ramp up the shipping of these modules in 2018.

"The IoT industry is mainly focused on data traffic, but voice communication, either by itself or simultaneously with data, is essential for applications like home security systems.

 "As a major supplier to the IoT segment of security and surveillance and many others dependent on voice, we are intent on continuing to deliver achievements like this certification."
