WuxiΒ Joint Venture Expands PresenceΒ West ofΒ Shanghai
Scott Wilson Group plc ("Scott Wilson" or "the Group"), the multi-disciplinary international design and engineering consultancy for the built and natural environments,Β today announces the formation of a strategic joint venture with the Wuxi Communication and Planning Design Company.
The joint venture, Wuxi Scott Wilson Consulting Engineering Ltd,Β is majority owned by Scott WilsonΒ and will capitaliseΒ on the westward movement of international companies from higher-cost Shanghai and Suzhou.Β Wuxi Scott WilsonΒ isΒ stronglyΒ positionedΒ to provide business consultancyΒ and project managementΒ servicesΒ for infrastructure development;Β property-related servicesΒ includingΒ environmental,Β masterplanning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, electrical & mechanical engineering;Β and tourism-related services.
WuxiΒ is aΒ keyΒ secondary city west ofΒ ShanghaiΒ with a population of two million.
TheΒ Wuxi Communication and Planning Design CompanyΒ (WXCPDC),Β established in 1986 and privatised in 2004,Β operates as aΒ transport design institute.Β WXCPDC specialises in municipal roads and engineeringΒ and has over 50% of the municipal works market inΒ WuxiΒ andΒ itsΒ vicinity. It holds the full suite of transport related design licences as well as a licence to practice landscape architecture.Β
