Trading UpdateΒ and Board Change
Servoca Plc, theΒ specialistΒ public sector outsourcingΒ and recruitment solutionsΒ provider, announces theΒ implementation of the final stage of a majorΒ restructuring andΒ cost reductionΒ exerciseΒ following significant growth and corporate activity.
Restructuring,Β cost reductionΒ and elimination of loss making activities
Following theΒ significant organic and acquisitive growthΒ during the 12 months to 30 September 2008,Β the boardΒ haveΒ streamlinedΒ theΒ Group ensuring that a clearΒ and more efficient structureΒ is in placeΒ forΒ the new financial yearΒ which commenced onΒ 1 October 2008.Β
TheΒ variousΒ measures taken by theΒ boardΒ include;
- The revision of the Group's management structure andΒ streamliningΒ ofΒ operational management;
- Simplification of the Group'sΒ corporate structure and reporting lines;
-Β Restructuring of two healthcare and training subsidiaries;
- The continuedΒ rationalisation ofΒ frontΒ and back office systemsΒ across the Group;
- A reduction in the number of administrative andΒ operationalΒ staff;Β
- TheΒ reduction in general overheadΒ expenditure.
As aΒ consequence of theΒ aboveΒ exercise,Β the Group hasΒ incurredΒ significantΒ exceptionalΒ and restructuring costsΒ andΒ thusΒ will not achieveΒ market expectationsΒ for the year ended 30 September 2008, but will incur a loss for the year.
ServocaΒ is now trading profitably and isΒ benefitingΒ Β from theΒ restructuringΒ and cost cutting exercise,Β which hasΒ reduced the Group's ongoing cost base byΒ approximatelyΒ Β£1.5Β millionΒ per annum.
Board Changes
Servoca also announces thatΒ Darren Browne, the Group'sΒ ChiefΒ ExecutiveΒ OfficerΒ hasΒ resignedΒ fromΒ theΒ board.
Servoca is pleased to announceΒ the appointment of Andrew Church,Β 36,Β as the Group's new Chief Executive OfficerΒ with effect from 24 November 2008. Andrew was formerly aΒ main board director of Lorien PLCΒ and Managing Director of itsΒ profitableΒ resourcingΒ division,Β which he grew to an annualΒ turnoverΒ of Β£185m.
