Sportech PLC11 October 2007 Competition Commission clears proposed acquisition of Vernons Football Pools Sportech PLC (the "Company"), the UK's leading football gaming business, notesthe announcement that the Company's proposed acquisition of Vernons FootballPools has been cleared by the Competition Commission. The CompetitionCommission, which published its final decision earlier today, has confirmed thatthe proposed acquisition will not lead to a substantial lessening ofcompetition. The Company will now seek to conclude its discussions with Ladbrokes PLC (theowners of Vernons) and a further announcement will be made in due course.
