('Orogen' or 'The Company')
Commencement of Drilling
Orogen Gold Plc (AIM:ORE), the AIM listed mineral exploration company focussed on Gold exploration and development in Europe announces that, further to the AGM statement of 9 May 2012, where Orogen announced it had signed a drilling contract, the Phase 1 drilling programme at its Deli Jovan project in eastern Serbia has commenced.
The Phase 1 diamond drilling programme, totalling 7,500m, will be carried out to confirm further lateral and depth continuity on the mineralised structures discovered at Deli Jovan; the programme is expected to last six months. The initial focus will be at the previously undrilled Gindusa mine prospect, where the most promising results were returned from the underground mapping and sampling programme, which included the identification of four gold- bearing mineralised structures in an 80m wide shear corridor.
In addition, a trenching programme is now in progress to test the sources of shallow gold soil anomalies discovered in 2011. This may lead to the identification of further targets for drill testing later in 2012.
Chief Executive of Orogen Gold Plc, Ed Slowey, commented:
"We are delighted to be underway with the drilling programme, which has occurred on schedule, and look forward to updating shareholders with developments in due course."

Notes to Editors
The Deli Jovan gold project is in eastern Serbia, the site comprising two shallow underground gold mines at Rusman and Gindusa, about 6 kilometres apart along a major shear zone. Production at the mines was halted in the 1930s due to the impending Second World War, and was never restarted. The mines lay untouched for over 70 years until Orogen Gold reassessed, dewatered and restarted exploration at Deli Jovan in 2011.
