Sanctuary Group PLC04 November 2005 Sanctuary Group PLC4 November 2005 Notification of Major interests in shares The Sanctuary Group plc ('the Company') 4 November 2005 The Company was notified on 3 November 2005 that as at the close of business on1 November 2005, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., ("GS Inc") was interested, byattribution only, in a total of 37,500,016 shares which represents 10.10% of theissued share capital of The Sanctuary Group plc. Interest in 21,836,761 shares arose from a beneficial interest held by GoldmanSachs International, a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of GS Inc. Interest in 70,000 shares arose from an interest held by Goldman, Sachs & Co, awholly owned direct subsidiary of GS Inc. Interest in 15,593,255 shares arose from the interest held by subsidiaries of GSInc acting as discretionary managers. Ends.
