Sanctuary Group PLC13 March 2006 Sanctuary Group PLC13 March 2006 Notification of Major interests in shares The Sanctuary Group plc ('the Company') 13 March 2006 The Company was notified on 10 March 2006 that as at the close of business on 8 March 2006 The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., ("GS Inc") was interested, by attribution only, in a total of 74,281,013 shares which represents 20.016% of the issued share capital of The Sanctuary Group plc. Of these 74,281,013 shares: Interest in 50,617,758 shares arose from a beneficial interest held by Goldman Sachs International, a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of GS Inc. Interest in 8,070,000 shares arose from an interest held by Goldman, Sachs & Co, a wholly owned direct subsidiary of GS Inc. Interest in 15,593,255 shares arose from the interest held by subsidiaries of GS Inc acting as discretionary managers. Ends.
