Sterling Energy PLC17 April 2007 17 April 2007 STERLING ENERGY PLC ("Sterling") WELL TEST REULTS FROM GUINEA BISSAU Sterling Energy, the AIM listed (symbol: SEY) independent oil & gas explorationand production company, notes the announcement made earlier today by Premier Oilplc ("Premier Oil") about the Eirozes-1 well in Guinea Bissau, reproduced below. Extract from the Premier announcement: "The Eirozes-1 well has been drilled to a total depth of 2,252m. The wellencountered Albian sandstones as prognosed. However, wireline logging has beencompleted and indicates the well has not encountered any significanthydrocarbons. The well is now being plugged and abandoned." Sterling has a 5% interest in the Esperanca permit on which the well wasdrilled.
