Sterling Energy Plc ("the Company")

Application has today been made for 25,514 ordinary shares of 40p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") to be admitted to trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange ("AIM") ("Admission").

The new Ordinary Shares are being issued pursuant to the exercise of options by a former employee of the Company. These shares will rank pari passu with the Company's existing Ordinary Shares and dealings are expected to commence on AIM on 4 April 2011.

Following Admission, the total issued share capital of the Company will be 219,389,020 Ordinary Shares.
