INTERIM MANAGEMENT STATEMENT AND BOARD CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT
Cambridge, England: 23 July 2008. Sepura plc, a global leader in the design, manufacture and supply of TETRA digital radios, today announces the following Interim Management Statement (as required by the UK Listing Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules) for the period 1 April 2008 to 23 July 2008 and intended change in Board membership.
General
The TETRA market continues to develop as expected. In particular both the key UK replacement market and new German procurement remain on track.
International Business
Significant revenue was generated in the period from sales
to Macedonia, Spain, Argentina and Malaysia and orders were received from Russia, China, Mexico and France.
Four separate invitations to pre-qualify / tender have been issued in Germany covering a requirement for more than 50,000 TETRA terminals over the next three to four years, all of which Sepura is bidding for.
UK Business
The UK business in the first quarter was dominated by revenue from continuing roll out of the Airwave contract to supply radios to UK Ambulance Trusts and from UK police forces replacing their fleets of old TETRA radios with new radios.
The UK replacement cycle remains on track and we are continuing to receive orders from our existing police force customers.
Outlook
We continue to see strong demand for our products in key markets. The Board's expectations for the financial results for the full year therefore remain unchanged albeit, as previously advised, weighted to the second half and subject to the inherent lumpiness in the TETRA market.
Management Change
The Board wishes to announce that Graham Mathews has now formally expressed his intention to retire as Chief Executive of Sepura. Graham is working with the Board to ensure an orderly handover to his successor. The process to find a successor is well advanced with strong internal and external candidates.
