INTERIM MANAGEMENT STATEMENT
Sepura plc ("the Company"), a global leader in the design, development and supply of TETRA digital radios, used predominately by the emergency services around the world, today issues the following Interim Management Statement. This statement, as required by the UK Listing Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, refers to the Company's trading results for the period 1 April 2009 to 20 July 2009.
Q1 Trading: 1 April 2009 to 30 June 2009
General
As indicated in our Preliminary statement last month, the TETRA market continues to develop although general economic conditions remain challenging.
International Business
We sold into over 45 countries during the period, including the commencement of shipments to Angola and significant shipments to Germany, Vietnam, Sweden and Qatar.
UK Business
The UK business in the first quarter included continuing shipments on the Airwave Department of Health contract and shipments on a major UK surveillance contract.
In addition, the UK replacement cycle remains on track and we are continuing to receive orders from our existing police force customers, with deliveries to five customers in the quarter.
Current Trading and Outlook
We continue to see demand for our products in key markets around the world. The Board's expectations for the financial results remain as previously advised, weighted towards the second half and subject to the inherent lumpiness in the TETRA market.
