AGM Statement

ScS, one of the UK's largest retailers of upholstered furniture and floorings, will hold its Annual General Meeting today at 12.00 at Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham, DH1 1TD, at which Alan Smith, Chairman, will make the following statement:

"The Board is pleased to report that the Group has had a good start to the financial year with like for like order intake up 5.0% for the 16 weeks ended 19 November 2016, a pleasing performance against particularly strong comparatives.

We are also delighted that our new store in Aberdeen has seen strong trading since opening on 22 September. A further three stores are scheduled to open on Boxing Day 2016, located in Plymouth, Straiton (Edinburgh) and Thanet. Following these openings, the Group will trade from 100 ScS stores and operate 28 House of Fraser concessions.

The Group continues to trade in line with expectations and to make progress with its strategy for growth. The Board believes the business remains in a strong position to maximise opportunities as they arise and grow market share. However, we are mindful that the Group continues to face very strong comparatives during the remainder of the year".
