Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Rentokil Initial plc (FTSE: RTO, "the Company") today announces the appointment of John Pettigrew to its Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2018. John will also become a member of the Audit Committee and the Nomination Committee from this date.

John is Chief Executive of National Grid plc, a FTSE 20 company. He joined National Grid in 1991 and progressed through a variety of roles before joining the Board as UK Executive Director in April 2014. He was appointed Chief Executive in April 2016. He has over 25 years of experience at National Grid in a variety of senior management roles, including Director of Engineering in the UK, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President for the US Electricity Distribution & Generation business, Chief Operating Officer for UK Gas Distribution and UK Chief Operating Officer from 2012 to 2014. 

Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive of National Grid, John served on the UK Electricity and Gas licence entity boards. He was a Director for National Grid Electricity Transmission plc from September 2012 and of National Grid Gas plc from April 2011, becoming Chairman of both in 2015.

John is a Fellow of the Energy Institute and of the Institution of Energy and Technology. He holds a BSc in Economics and an MSc in International Economics and Banking. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2010.
