Renishaw plc (the "Company") Appointment of non-executive director
The Board of Renishaw plc is pleased to announce the appointment of an additional independent non-executive director with effect from 20 June 2008.
Bill Whiteley (aged 59) was, until his retirement in May 2008, the chief executive of Rotork plc, where he had been a director for 24 years. During this period, Bill managed Rotork plc's business during a period of major expansion, both geographically and in product lines. Rotork plc is a global business, with over 30 subsidiaries around the world.
Bill is also the senior independent director and chair of the Audit and Remuneration Committees of Spirax Sarco plc and a non-executive director and chair of the Remuneration Committee of Dialight plc. He has been appointed as a non-executive director of Brammer plc with effect from 1 July 2008.
Bill will be joining the Company's Audit Committee and Remuneration and Nomination Committee.
There is no other information to be disclosed for the purposes of Rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
Bill Whiteley has notified the Company that he is beneficially interested in 1690 ordinary shares of 20p in the Company.
