Reliance Security Group PLC21 October 2005 Reliance Security Group plc ("Reliance") Scottish Monitoring Contract and BT Contract Extension The Directors of Reliance announce that Reliance Secure Task Management Limited,a wholly owned operating company, has been unsuccessful in its bid to renew itselectronic monitoring services contract (offender tagging) in Scotland. Theexisting contract, which this financial year will generate turnover ofapproximately £6 million, expires on 31 March 2006. The outcome will nottherefore have any material effect on the current year's result. Progress continues to be made in securing new business. With our partners, HadenBuilding Management and Carillion, agreements have recently been signed with BTto extend their £100 million per annum facilities management contract for afurther three years to 31 March 2009. The extended contract is expected togenerate annual turnover of approximately £25 million for Reliance. Commenting on these developments, Julian Nicholls, Group Managing Director,said: "We are obviously disappointed not to have renewed our electronic monitoringcontract with the Scottish Executive, who remain an important customer. Thepioneering work we did in establishing this new technology in Scotland and thehigh levels of service delivered under the existing contract have beenacknowledged. We will continue to be a major provider of services to thecriminal justice system and wider business community in Scotland with a keendesire to expand our business there still further. We are delighted to have secured the extension of the BT facilities managementcontract. At the time of its award in 2000, this was the largest ever privatesector FM contract and Reliance has consistently outperformed its targets. Thecontinuing delivery of a high standard of customer service remains our keyfocus."
