Douglas Sutherland to succeed John Matthews as Chairman of Regus
Regus plc ("Regus" or "the Company"), the world's largest provider of innovative workspace solutions, today announces that Douglas Sutherland will become non-executive chairman of the company with effect from 18 May 2010 (the date of the Company's next Annual General Meeting). Douglas joined the board of Regus in August 2008 as a non-executive Director and has served as chairman of the audit committee.
John Matthews, who has served on the Regus holding company Board since 1995 as a non-executive director and as non-executive chairman from 2002, will retire from the Board with effect from 18 May 2010 (the date of the next AGM). Additionally, Martin Robinson, Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee will retire from the Board at the same time. Martin has served as an independent non-executive director since 2002.
Douglas spent 20 years with Arthur Andersen before his role as Chief Financial Officer of Skype during its acquisition by eBay in October 2005 and Chief Financial Officer at SecureWave during its acquisition by PatchLink in July 2007.
