It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our founder and former Chairman, Lord Jacob Rothschild.
Jacob was Chairman of RIT Capital Partners plc from 1988 until he stepped down from active involvement with the firm in 2019. In addition to RIT, Jacob also co-founded companies including GAM Investments and St James's Place plc.
RIT is proud that its association with Lord Rothschild's family interests continues via his daughter, Hannah Rothschild, who has served as a Director of RIT for over a decade. In addition to her role at the Company, Hannah is a Director of Windmill Hill Asset Management Limited, a Director of Five Arrows Limited and serves as a Trustee of the Rothschild Foundation.
As disclosed in the Company's Annual Report & Accounts (ARA), the majority of the beneficial and non-beneficial interests relating to the Rothschild family are in respect of shares held via trusts, companies or charitable foundations where Hannah is a beneficiary, trustee, or is able to exert significant influence. Further details may be found in the ARA.
