Meridian Petroleum PLC27 June 2007 27th June 2007 MERIDIAN PETROLEUM PLC("Meridian" or "the Company") Directors' Dealings Three Directors Purchase Total of 784,528 Shares Meridian Petroleum (AIM:MRP), the independent oil and gas exploration andproduction company, announces that it has been informed that 161,028 5p OrdinaryShares were purchased on 26th June 2007 at 13.875p per share through a familytrust in which Stephen Gutteridge, the non-executive Chairman of the Company, isdeemed to have an interest as a potential beneficiary. The Company was also informed that Mr Gutteridge purchased a further 50,000 5pOrdinary Shares on 26th June 2007 at 13.798p per share through a nomineeaccount. These transactions bring Mr Gutteridge's total beneficial interest inthe Company to 211,028 Ordinary Shares representing approximately 0.2% of theCompany's issued share capital. The Company was also informed that 498,500 5p Ordinary Shares were purchased on26th June 2007 at 13.9p per share through a Self Invested Personal Pension inthe name of Peter Clutterbuck, a non-executive Director of the Company. Thistransaction brings Mr Clutterbuck's total beneficial interest in the OrdinaryShares of the Company to 1,071,166 ordinary shares and 720,000 options onordinary shares representing in total approximately 1.85% of the Company'sissued share capital The Company was also informed that 75,000 5p Ordinary Shares were purchased on26th June 2007 at 13.79p per share by David Wake-Walker, a non-executiveDirector of the Company. Mr Wake-Walker also holds options over 720,000 ordinaryshares and his total beneficial interest represents approximately 0.8% of theCompany's issued share capital.
