PIP - Change of Chairman

The Board announces that Mr Tom Bartlam will step down as Chairman of the Company and will resign as a Director immediately after the Company's Annual General Meeting at 10.30am on 23 November 2016. Mr Bartlam was appointed to the Board in 2003 and became Chairman in 2004.

Following due and careful consideration, the Board has accepted the Nomination Committee's recommendation to appoint Sir Laurie Magnus as Chairman with immediate effect following Mr Bartlam's resignation. Sir Laurie Magnus was appointed to PIP's Board in November 2011 and became Senior Independent Director from 2014. Ms Susannah Nicklin, who joined the Board in 2011, will assume the role of Senior Independent Director.

Tom Bartlam, Chairman, said: "It has been a privilege to lead the Board over the past 12 years, however I feel that the time is now right for me to step down and hand over the reins to a new Chairman. The Company continues to deliver strong NAV growth, and to respond effectively to both challenges and opportunities in all its markets. I am confident that the Company has the financial strength, and experienced board and manager that enable it to continue its focus on investing well and generating good returns for shareholders over the long term. I am delighted that Sir Laurie has agreed to become Chairman and I wish him well in his new role."

Sir Laurie Magnus, Senior Independent Director, said: "I am honoured to have been offered the role of Chairman and I look forward to helping to contribute to the Company's future success. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Tom for his invaluable contribution over the past 13 years and wish him well for the future."
