Plant Impact and Arysta LifeScience Sign Evaluation, Development and Distribution Agreement for Crop Nutrient Products

Plant Impact plc (AIM:PIM), a global developer of technologies that improve crop productivity, is pleased to announce that on 5 February 2010 it entered into an exclusive evaluation, development and distribution agreement (the "agreement") with Arysta LifeScience Corporation covering the Company's InCa, Balance and Cocoa Stress Tolerance products (the "Crop Nutrient Products").

This is a significant milestone for Plant Impact as the agreement will:

·; extend territorial coverage of the Crop Nutrient Products from 24 countries to 52 countries.

·; increase field trial development of the Crop Nutrient Products. Arysta LifeScience is planning approximately 350 field trials over the next 12 to 18 months which means that, including the Company's currently planned field trial programme, this will result in more than 500 field trials being conducted.

·; increase the commercial potential of the Crop Nutrient Products.

The agreement covers countries in North America (excluding InCa), Central and Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Far East. Initial crop targets are in high value horticulture with potential extension into some arable crops.

Pursuant to the agreement, Arysta LifeScience will have exclusivity to evaluate the Crop Nutrient Products until 31 March 2011. The evaluation of the Crop Nutrient Products represents the field trial development stage referred to above and will be carried out to research standard. Once this is complete Arysta LifeScience will ensure products are registered locally, and will market and distribute these products on an exclusive basis. Detailed development and distribution agreements will be signed country by country as they come on stream.

"Plant nutrients are an important and growing component of our product portfolio", said Wayne Hewett, president and CEO of Arysta LifeScience. "The combination of Plant Impact's innovation platform and our global market development and distribution capabilities make an exciting partnership. We are delighted to further strengthen our relationship with Plant Impact".

Pete Blezard, CEO of Plant Impact commented, "This is a tremendous achievement for all stakeholders involved. Agriculture is challenged to feed the world during a time when the population is increasing and natural resources are decreasing. We firmly believe that new science and technologies that are sustainable, environmentally safe, which increase crop marketable yield and yet are able to decrease wastage and conserve natural resources are the way forward. Plant Impact has such science and technologies. With this agreement our company has significantly expanded its route to market and continues to prove efficacy and commercial viability."

About Plant Impact plc

Plant Impact addresses the increasing global demand for effective, sustainable and ecologically-sound products to combat environmental plant stress and improve crop productivity. Common environmental plant stresses include drought, salinity, nutrient deficiencies, pests and disease. Plant Impact's advances produce practical results that reduce inputs and benefit the whole of the agricultural value chain, providing solutions for growers, food manufacturers and consumers.

A broad product portfolio has been developed using these innovative and proprietary technologies, the most advanced of which are already being marketed and sold through established agricultural distribution networks. Products for the home and garden market are also distributed direct to consumers through reputable high street stores.

About InCa

InCa is a product derived from Plant Impact's CaT technology. This technology is a calcium absorption aid. In trials it has been found to deliver calcium to the plant up to 50 times more effectively than traditional calcium products and with fewer applications and less input.

CaT alleviates the problems encountered by growing crops under environmental stress (drought, heat, cold) and physiological diseases in the ongoing development of the fruit that are often due to calcium deficiencies. This technology enables calcium uptake and retention in the tissues of the plant that would not naturally absorb calcium under normal growing conditions.

About Balance

Balance is a product derived from Plant Impact's Speedo technology. Speedo technology has the ability to increase the efficacy of nutrient products. It accelerates reproductive growth leading to faster and better colour, flowering, sugar production and maturity. Earlier yielding crops give the option for additional harvest and or prolonged harvests of extra crops. Speedo technology can be incorporated into other Plant Impact products such as the PiNT technology range as well as into other manufacturers fertilisers under license.

About Cocoa Stress Tolerance ("CST")

CST is a product based principally on Plant Impact's Alethea stress relief technology in combination with PiNT technology. It enables cocoa plants to withstand disease attack by increasing nutrient levels and plant health. There are no cures for diseases such as Frosty Pod and Black Pod so cocoa growers are dependent upon fungicides to reduce yield loss. CST therefore presents growers with the opportunity to reduce fungicide use while adding to the health of the plant nutritionally.

In a 3 year trial on the Costa Rican cocoa crop CST was found to increase cocoa yield by 67% by simply improving disease resistance. In addition calcium levels were also increased by 25% which has a beneficial effect on the flavour of cocoa products such as chocolate.
