Phoenix Group Holdings plc - New Non-Executive Director Appointment
The Board of Phoenix Group Holdings plc ("Phoenix") is pleased to announce the appointment of a new non-executive director, Mike Tumilty, who has been nominated to the Board by Standard Life Aberdeen plc ("Standard Life Aberdeen") in accordance with the terms of Phoenix's long-term strategic partnership with Standard Life Aberdeen under which Standard Life Aberdeen may nominate two non-executive directors to the Phoenix Board. Mike replaces Barry O'Dwyer who resigned from the Board on 28 June 2019 (RNS reference 7316D) and will be appointed to the Board with effect from 1 September 2019.
Mike Tumilty is the Global Chief Operating Officer of Standard Life Aberdeen. He has worked in the Financial Services industry for 24 years, holding various senior positions, including Director of Operations at Aberdeen Standard Investments and Head of Investment Operations at Standard Life.
Commenting on the appointment, Nicholas Lyons, Phoenix Chairman said: "I am very pleased that Mike Tumilty will be joining the Phoenix Board. He brings substantial experience and skills relevant to our strategy. His appointment reflects the significance of our ongoing relationship with Standard Life Aberdeen, both as a major shareholder but also as our strategic partner in the new business retirement space."
