Contract Win

Petards, the AIM quoted developer of advanced security and surveillance systems, announces that it has secured a contract to supply Bombardier Transportation ("Bombardier") with Petards eyeTrain on-board digital CCTV systems for Bombardier Electrostar Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) trains.

Petards eyeTrain saloon and Driver Only Operation (DOO) CCTV systems have been selected by Bombardier to be fitted to the 116 new Bombardier Electrostar EMU vehicles that they are building for Southern Railway which will initially operate on the Thameslink route before being cascaded onto newly electrified routes. The order is worth over £1.75 million and deliveries are expected to commence and be completed during 2014.

Commenting on the award, Petards Chairman Raschid Abdullah said;

"We are delighted to have secured this contract and look forward to working with Bombardier to deliver a world class solution on this important project which we anticipate will make a significant contribution to our revenues in 2014.

While we work closely with Bombardier on many projects it is pleasing that we are again supplying equipment onto one of their prestigious new build train programmes."
