Oxus Gold PLC ("Oxus"or the "Company") (OXS.L) announces that on 23 January 2009, it was notified that Mr Richard Shead, the non-executive chairman of the Company, today purchased 250,000 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company at a price of 3.9p per share. As a result of the purchase, Mr Shead now has a beneficial interest in 559,000 ordinary shares in the Company, representing 0.15% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.
As at 23 January 2009, the total issued ordinary share capital of the Company is 381,439,685 ordinary shares.
