Ovoca Gold PLC24 May 2006 Wednesday, 24 May 2006 Ovoca management team boosted by appointment of Simon Beardsmore as Commercial Manager Ovoca Gold Plc (AIM: OVG; IEX: OVX) announced today the appointment of Mr SimonBeardsmore as Commercial Manager. Simon, 55, is a graduate of the Royal Schoolof Mines at Imperial College, London and a UK Chartered Engineer with over 30years experience in the operational, technical and financial aspects of miningindustry internationally. He has also undertaken post-graduate work ongeo-statistics at the University of Leeds and corporate finance at the LondonBusiness School. After an early career in operational management and technicalconsulting, Simon joined the Head Office of Consolidated Gold Fields plc wherehe served in both the Technical and Mining Investment Divisions until thecompany was taken over in 1989. Over the last fifteen years, Simon has workedfor a number of brokers and investment banks in the City, including T Hoare &Co, Evolution Beeson Gregory and Numis Securities, as a mining analystspecialising in small and mid-cap mining companies and as associate director ofthe specialist mining boutique, WCS Limited. Simon will take the position of Commercial Manager at Ovoca Gold with immediateeffect. His role will focus on assisting the Chairman and CEO as Ovoca makes thetransition from a junior explorer to a developer and producer.
