NCSP Group Operating Results for January - September 2011
NCSP Group (LSE: NCSP, MICEX: NMTP) reports consolidated operating results for January-September 2011.
To ensure comparability with previous periods the statistics have been adjusted for the volumes handled by Primorsk Trade Port Ltd., which was acquired by NCSP Group in January 2011.
NCSP Group's total cargo turnover in the reporting period amounted to 117ย 233.8 thousand tons which represents an increase of 1ย 187.5 thousand tons or 1.0% versus January-September 2010.
In the first nine months of 2011 liquid cargo volumes recorded an increase of 2ย 515.7 thousand tons or 2.6% versus the same period of last year.
Crude oil transshipment by NCSP Group for the reporting period totaled 84ย 286.3 thousand tons. As such in September 2011 the Group reduced the slippage in crude oil volumes against the 2010 schedule from -2.7% (eight months of 2011 versus eight months of 2010) to -0.9% (nine months of 2011 versus nine months of 2010).

Volumes of oil products transshipment across the Group increased by 35.8% or by 3ย 427.6 thousand tons. The total volume of oil products handled during the reporting period amounted to 12 996.9 thousand tons, of which 4 219 tons attributed to diesel transshipment by Primorsk Trade Port Ltd via the two berths rented by the Group since January 2011.
NCSP Group continues to increase grain handling volumes. In September the Group handled 1 166.3 thousand tons which represents an all-time monthly volume record. In January-September, 2011 the Group handled 3ย 041.1 thousand tons in total.
Growth was also recorded in other bulk cargoes: iron ore and ore concentrate (+1ย 208.1 thousand tons or 91.6%), mineral fertilizers (+171.4 thousand tons or 11.0%) and sugar (+134.0 thousand tons or 10.0%).
General cargo turnover in the first nine months of 2011 totaled 7ย 064.3 thousand tons, representing a -14.7% or 1ย 212.9 thousand tons reduction versus the same period of last year. Volumes of timber (-431.3 thousand tons or -50.0%) and ferrous metals (-795.7 thousand tons or -12.8%) decreased due to general turmoil in the global markets and the resulting decrease in demand from key consumers of Russian timber and metals.
In the first nine months of 2011 container traffic in TEU terms increased by 37.4% versus the same period of last year and totaled 447.7 thousand TEU.
