Max Petroleum PLC11 June 2007 MAX PETROLEUM PLC (AIM: MXP) 11 June 2007 APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Max Petroleum Plc ("Max Petroleum" or "the Company"), an oil and gas explorationand production company operating in Kazakhstan, is pleased to announce theappointment of Lee Kraus, Jr. (aged 51) as a Non-Executive Director. Mr. Kraus is the Founder and President of Composite Capital, LLC, a financialadvisory firm focused on clients in the oil and gas, mining, and chemicalssectors. He previously served as a Managing Director of Dresdner Kleinwort,heading up its natural resources group from 2005 to 2007. Between 2000 and 2004,Lee was a Director and Executive Vice President of Jnana TechnologiesCorporation, an enterprise software company. From 1991 to 2000, Mr. Kraus wasemployed by Lazard Freres & Co., LLC, where he was a Managing Directorconcentrating on natural resources and served on the board of Lazard Moscow. Hehas also served as a Vice President in the Investment Banking group at MorganStanley, focusing on the oil and gas, mining, and chemical industries, and as anengineer at Schlumberger Ltd.
