BOARD APPOINTMENT
Monitise plc ("Monitise"; LSE: MONI.L) today announced that Jan Verplancke has been appointed to the Board as a non-executive Director.
Jan is Chief Information Officer for Standard Chartered Bank. Based in Singapore, he joined Standard Chartered in March 2004 and is responsible for all systems development, technology support and banking operations. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Jan was CIO-EMEA for Dell, where he achieved considerable cost reduction and process improvement over his tenure and was responsible for the expansion of Dell's business into new markets. He began his career at Levi Strauss in Brussels.
Commenting on the appointments, Monitise's Chairman, Duncan McIntyre, said: "We are delighted that Jan is joining the Board, bringing with him a wealth of experience and understanding of the latest developments and trends in the international banking and payments market, which will complement and strengthen our existing team".
Other than the information contained in this announcement, there are no other details to be disclosed in accordance with paragraph (g) of Schedule Two of the AIM Rules.
