Notices of Annual General Meeting and General Meeting of the Company;

A & J Mucklow Group plc announces that copies of its annual report and accounts for the year ended 30 June 2008 and circulars convening the Annual General Meeting and a General Meeting have today been posted to shareholders and are available on the Company's website - www.mucklow.com.

The General Meeting on 11 November 2008 at 11.45 a.m. (or as soon thereafter as the Company's Annual General Meeting convened for 11.30 a.m. on the same day has concluded) is to consider approval of the granting of a general authority for the Company to make market purchases of up to 14.99 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital and approval of the waiver of certain obligations which may arise under The City Code on Takeovers and Mergers in relation to the exercise of that authority.

In accordance with the Listing Rules, two copies of each these documents, together with two copies of the forms of proxy for use in connection with the Annual General Meeting and the General Meeting, have been submitted to the UK Listing Authority. These documents will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's document viewing facility, which is situated at:

The Company further announces that, in accordance with DTR 6.1.2, a copy of the proposed new Articles of Association has also been lodged with the UK Listing Authority for publication through the document viewing facility. The principal changes introduced in the new articles are set out in the Notice of Annual General Meeting.
