David Barron appointed Director of Investment Trusts and Product Strategy

Miton Group plc, the AIM quoted fund management group, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Barron as a Director of the Group in the role of Director of Investment Trusts and Product Strategy with effect from 3 September 2013. David will have a key strategic role working with the Board, Ian Chimes and our fund manager teams to ensure that we are identifying and developing the funds and investment approaches to satisfy our clients, which in turn will help us achieve sustainable long-term growth.

David has over 30 years of experience in the City, of which 18 have been focused on asset management. Until earlier this year David was at JP Morgan Asset Management, having joined Fleming Investment Management in 1995 and becoming a Managing Director, and Head of JPMorgan Asset Management's Investment Trust business, the largest in the UK, in 2002.

David, who is aged 54, originally qualified as an accountant with Thomson McClintock (now KPMG) and received an MBA from INSEAD, before joining Merrill Lynch Europe and then Hambros Bank, both roles being in corporate finance.
