New Super Assessment module launched to enhance product offering

MedaPhor, the global provider of advanced ultrasound education and training for medical professionals, today announces the availability of its first radiology focussed Super Assessment module for its award-winning ScanTrainer simulator. The module will form part of the new Upper Abdomen Education Packages which are a range of solution bundles, designed specifically for radiology, aimed at teaching complex transabdominal ultrasound scanning skills in a self-learning environment.

The module is the latest in a new range of ScanTrainer Super Assessment modules that are designed to simulate the real life experience of examining and diagnosing patients in a busy hospital clinic. These new modules replicate the nature of real life scanning by testing a trainee's ability to diagnose 10 randomly selected patient scenarios. The module assesses the trainee on a case-by-case basis and passes or fails their performance. Trainees are then offered detailed feedback to explain the correct diagnosis.

Patient case pathologies for the new module include:

· Simple hepatic cyst

· Complex renal cyst

· Angiomyolipoma

· Kidney stones

· Acute calculus cholecystitis

· Gall bladder calculus with normal wall

· Hepatic hemangioma

· Hydronephrosis

The ScanTrainer TAS Upper Abdomen Ultrasound Education package is a complete hardware and software package which includes:

· TAS high fidelity haptic with two monitors, the new v5.0 operational software and operating system

· ScanTutor - a unique built-in ultrasound tutor replicating the hands-on expert guidance experience

· Core Upper Abdomen (full anatomy) ultrasound skills learning module, teaching all the skills relating to the examination of the liver, kidneys, pancreas, gall bladder, bile ducts, spleen, aorta, bladder and prostate

· New randomised 10 patient Super Assessment Upper Abdomen module

Stuart Gall, CEO at MedaPhor, comments, "The launch of our first radiology-based Super Assessment module will help us expand our growing ScanTrainer simulator sales into a global radiology training market. Our specialist Upper Abdomen Education Packages are specifically tailored to cater for the needs of radiology departments, at a price point to suit a variety of budgets. This product launch signals our continued commitment to creating best-of-breed ultrasound training solutions for the healthcare sector."
