MANDARIN ORIENTAL INTERNATIONAL LIMITED Interim Management Statement 7th May 2008 - Mandarin Oriental International Limited has today issued anInterim Management Statement covering the period from 1st January to 6th May2008 in accordance with the requirements of the Disclosure and TransparencyRules issued by the Financial Services Authority of the United Kingdom. During the period under review, Mandarin Oriental's business continued toperform in line with expectations with most of the Group's key propertiesenjoying satisfactory levels of occupancy and room rates. Generally, whileoccupancy levels were lower, the effect was offset by increases in the roomrates. In February 2008, the Group opened a new hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico.Mandarin Oriental now has 21 hotels in operation and a further 18 underdevelopment. The Group continues to liaise closely with developers to determinethe timing of individual projects as it expects some projects will be delayed inthe current environment. While operating conditions have remained stable, it is anticipated that resultsfor the remainder of the year will be affected by more difficult economicconditions, particularly in The Americas. Overall, the Group's financialposition is strong and, notwithstanding any uncertainty in the short term, thelong-term outlook remains positive.
