Update on placing

On 20 May 2011 Lonrho announced a placing of up to 118,000,000 new ordinary shares in the capital of the Company at 16.5 pence per share ("Placing") to raise gross proceeds of £19.5 million. The Placing was limited to 118,000,000 new shares in the capital of Lonrho ("Placing Shares") representing approximately 9.99per cent. of the current issued share capital of Lonrho.

Lonrho is now pleased to confirm that 118,000,000 Placing Shares have been placed.

It is expected that Admission will take place and that dealings in the Placing Shares will begin on 26 May 2011.
