Leaf Clean Energy Company25 September 2007 Leaf Clean Energy Company Directorate Change Leaf Clean Energy Company 25 September 2007 Directorate Changes The Board of Leaf Clean Energy Company, (AIM: LEAF) is pleased to announce theappointment of Nora Mead Brownell to the Board as an independent non-executivedirector as of 23rd September 2007. Ms. Brownell, 60, served as Commissioner to the Federal Energy RegulatoryCommission (FERC) from 2001 to 2006. After leaving FERC, Ms Brownell started BCConsulting, a firm specializing in energy including infrastructure, energyconsumption, new technology and renewables. Ms. Brownell consults with industryand government officials on the restructuring of energy markets and the creationof independent regulatory commissions. Ms. Brownell's tenure at the FERC reflects her longstanding commitment tofostering competitive markets to serve the public interest. She successfullypromoted the development of independent transmission organizations for wholesalepower, which now represent the primary electricity market structure in the US. Prior to FERC, Ms. Brownell served as a member of the Pennsylvania PublicUtility Commission (PUC) from 1997 to 2001. During her time at the PUC, Ms.Brownell took an active role in the rollout of electric choice in Pennsylvania.Prior to her appointment to the Pennsylvania Commission, she was actingExecutive Director of the Regional Performing Arts Center in Philadelphia, a$200 million arts and economic development initiative. Ms. Brownell previouslyserved as the Senior Vice President for Meridian Bancorp, Inc.'s CorporateAffairs Unit. Prior to joining Meridian in 1987, Ms. Brownell was DeputyExecutive Assistant to former Pennsylvania Governor Richard Thornburgh. Ms.Brownell is the former President of the National Association of RegulatoryUtility Commissioners.
