KMG EP Share Buy Back Programme. 

Announcement on the results of the trading

Astana, 12 February 2009. 

JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production ("the Company" or "KMG EP") announces that pursuant to the Share Buy Back Programme commenced on 24 November, 2008, 

on 11 February 2009 the Company acquired 158,600 of its global depositary receipts ("GDRs")  (LSE:KMG) on the London Stock Exchange at an average price of $13.1639 per GDR. 

Since the start of the Share Buy Back Programme, the Company has purchased in aggregate 1,739,390 GDRs and 44,322 ordinary shares.
