KMG EP Share Buy Back Programme. 

Announcement on the results of the trading

Astana, 18 June 2009. JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production ("the Company" or "KMG EP") announces that pursuant to the Share Buy Back Programme commenced on 24 November, 2008, on 17 June 2009 the Company acquired 125,000 of its global depositary receipts ("GDRs") (LSE:KMG) on the London Stock Exchange at an average price of $20.00 per GDR.

Since the start of the Share Buy Back Programme, the Company has purchased in aggregate 5,416,697 GDRs and 104,128 ordinary shares.
