Johnston Press plc (the "Company") Director/PMDR Shareholding The Company has been informed that on 19 April 2006 Mr M A Vickers, a member ofthe Group Management Committee, has exercised options of 10,594 ordinary sharesof 10p each in the Company under the rules of the Johnston Press plc ExecutiveShare Option Scheme at an option price of 356.5p per share. Mr Vickers has onthe same day sold a total of 10,594 ordinary shares at a price of 480p pershare. As a result of this transaction, Mr Vickers interest in the company remains at399,566 shares.
