Johnston Press PLC15 April 2008 Johnston Press plc (the "Company") The Company was notified today that the Johnston Press plc Employee Share Trustpurchased 139,729 shares of 10p each in the Company at 138.17p per share on 8April 2008. This satisfies the Directors' responsibility to implement theRestricted Stock Unit Scheme as voted for at the AGM on 27 April 2007. The interests of each of the executive directors and members of the GroupManagement Board in the ordinary shares of the Company therefore increased by139,729 shares each, solely by virtue of their status as potential beneficiariesof the Trust.
